YOUR IRONMAN

What follows is my complete framework for Ironman, built from years of experience and thousands of hours of endurance.

1. Planning

Many athletes train hard but feel lost, jumping between random sessions or generic plans that don’t fit their lives. In this module you’ll learn how to build a clear, realistic plan that aligns your training with your race, your work, and your family. I’ll show you how to structure your weeks, progress your fitness safely, periodise your build, and adjust when life gets in the way. You’ll move from guesswork to intention, giving you consistency, calm, and confidence long before race day.

2. Equipment

Most athletes feel overwhelmed by gear, worried they’ll buy the wrong bike, the wrong shoes, or waste money on “must-have” kit that makes little difference. In this section you’ll learn exactly what equipment genuinely helps your performance, what is merely nice to have, and what you can safely ignore. I’ll show you how to prioritise value over hype - from aero choices and bottle setup to clothing, wheels, and tech - so you spend wisely, feel confident in your setup, and race faster without unnecessary stress.

3. Experience

Many athletes reach race day having done the training but without the real-world experience that builds confidence. In this module you’ll learn how to deliberately accumulate the right kinds of practice, from open water swimming and pacing long rides to rehearsing transitions, nutrition, and race routines. I’ll help you turn training sessions into controlled experiments so you reduce fear, avoid surprises, and arrive on race day feeling calm, capable, and genuinely prepared.

4. Fitness & Conditioning

Not only will you receive a customised, personalised training plan, you’ll also learn what it truly means to become race-ready for Ironman. In this module I’ll teach you how fitness is built over time through smart progression, appropriate intensity, and consistent volume. You’ll understand your training zones, how to balance hard and easy days, and how to develop durability across swim, bike, and run without burning out. By the end, you won’t just be following workouts - you’ll actually understand how your body adapts, gets stronger, and performs at its best on race day.

5. Nutrition & Hydration

You’ll learn how to build real, usable fitness - not just how to follow sessions. In training, I’ll show you how to progress safely, balance intensity with endurance, and develop durability across swim, bike, and run without burning out. On race day, you’ll understand exactly how to pace your effort, manage fatigue, and use the fitness you’ve built so you finish strong rather than fading in the final miles.

6. Sleep & Recovery

I'll teach you why recovery is where your fitness is actually built, not just training. I’ll show you how to prioritise quality sleep, create simple routines that improve rest, and spot the warning signs of fatigue before they become injuries. You’ll understand how sleep, daily habits, and smart recovery practices combine to keep you fresh, consistent, and able to absorb your training so you feel stronger week after week.

7. Muscle Management

You’ll learn how to keep your body durable, resilient, and injury-free throughout your Ironman build. I’ll teach you how to look after your muscles day to day through smart stretching, foam rolling, mobility work, and targeted recovery habits. You’ll understand how to recognise early warning signs of niggles, when to push through and when to back off, and when to seek help from a physio or sports therapist. The aim is simple: train consistently, reduce breakdowns, and arrive at race day strong, healthy, and ready to perform.

8. Health

I will teach you how to protect your overall health while you train hard for Ironman. I’ll teach you practical habits around illness prevention, managing stress, balancing training with life, and listening to your body. You’ll understand how sleep, nutrition, hydration, and recovery all interact to keep your immune system strong and your energy consistent. The goal is simple: stay healthy enough to train week in, week out, so you build momentum instead of constantly being forced to stop and start.

9. Mindset

You’ll learn how to build a mindset that supports consistency rather than relying on motivation alone. I’ll show you how to stay focused when training feels hard, manage pressure, and reframe setbacks so they don’t derail your progress. You’ll understand how to set realistic goals, handle self-doubt, and develop mental resilience for both tough training days and race day itself. The aim is to help you stay calm, committed, and confident from your first session right through to the finish line.

10. Community

You’ll learn how to use community as a powerful performance tool rather than just a social add-on. I’ll show you how shared goals, accountability, and collective experience can keep you consistent, motivated, and better informed throughout your build. You’ll see how learning from others’ wins and mistakes reduces your own risk, while supportive training partners and discussions help you stay focused when things get tough. The aim is to create a sense of belonging that strengthens your mindset, improves your decision-making, and increases your chances of success on race day.

10.5. Luck

In the club you’ll learn how to prepare for the things you can’t control and respond well when they inevitably go wrong. I’ll teach you how to build flexibility into your plan, make better decisions under pressure, and stay calm when weather, illness, travel, or equipment issues disrupt your training or race. You’ll understand that “luck” is often created by being organised, adaptable, and mentally steady, so you can keep moving forward rather than being knocked off course when the unexpected happens.

Technique

I'll teach you how small improvements in technique can make a big difference to your speed, efficiency, and comfort across swim, bike, and run. Throughout your coaching I’ll help you analyse and refine your movement, body position, and pacing so you waste less energy and move more smoothly. You’ll understand what good technique actually looks like, how to spot common errors, and how to make steady, practical improvements that translate directly into better performance in training and on race day.

Race Day

In the club you'll learn exactly how to prepare for and execute your Ironman from start to finish. I’ll walk you through an effective taper, pre-race routines, and sensible carb loading so you arrive fresh, calm, and well fueled. You’ll understand what to expect in transitions, how to pace each discipline, and how to manage nutrition and hydration across the day. By the end, race day will feel familiar rather than intimidating, so you can focus on performing well instead of worrying about surprises.

My mission is to guide you to the finish line of a full 140.6 or half 70.3 with confidence, strength and resilience. Through smart training, real world experience and a supportive community, we help you build the fitness, mindset and knowledge needed to take on the Ironman distance and achieve something extraordinary.
